Four Western Cape Turtle Threat Abatement Alliance (WCTTAA) rangers have completed their aerial shooting accreditation, giving Indigenous ranger teams greater capacity to carry out feral animal control and protect marine turtles on Cape York Peninsula.

New exclusion fencing is protecting four culturally and ecologically significant wetlands on Cape York Peninsula. The wetlands are located on Kalpowar Station, Normanby Station and Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park.

Camping under the stars, tackling remote four-wheel drive tracks and encountering some of Cape York's unique wildlife were all part of the job for Cape York NRM staff during a recent land condition monitoring trip through the Peninsula's south-west.
